INTERNATIONAL PRESS REVIEW
Foreward
International Press Review is a review of major business and professional
publications and electronic media in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe,
and the Middle East. Information about each publication is gathered from
responses to the IPR Press Survey, references in scholarly works
on the media and culled from references in general interest and trade
publications. An index and key to major sources is included. The guiding
principle of IPR is unbiased analysis of media prominence and effectiveness
in serving intended market audiences around the world.
Guiding Practices and Principles of IPR:
- IPR is not a journal of opinion, but a quick reference work
for users and observers of the print and electronic media. Sources may
be omitted from the Review simply because IPR has insufficient
data to submit a useful entry.
- IPR is not intended to be a staff directory.
The senior editorial supervisor of each publication is listed under the
general title Editor. The senior advertising sales person is listed
under Advertising. The listing is not intended to reflect the precise
job of the individual named. Publications are in the native language of
the country of origin, unless otherwise noted. Circulation figures are
rounded off and are presented to show relative size, not precise
market share.
Phone numbers listed for each publication are for the editorial department
or for the general switchboard. Separate telephone and fax numbers are
listed for the Advertising contact, if available. The international
phone prefixes are included in the country overview.
We realize that many publications have been omitted from IPR for
the reasons stated above. In a sense, IPR is a work that is continuously
in progress. With your help we believe we will ultimately achieve our
goal to become the definitive source of information on major publications
around the world. We encourage readers to complete the IPR survey
found on the back page and forward it by mail or fax to the address indicated.
All responses will be kept in strictest confidence. We are anxious to
hear your response to IPR and welcome your suggestions for additional
entries.
